Maxine L. Deraco, 77, Lebanon, died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at her residence. She was the wife of Augustus A. Deraco, with whom she would have celebrated a 55th wedding anniversary on July 22. Born Aug. 9, 1927, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Calvin R. and Martha Simons Frysinger. In her early years, she was an operator for Bell Telephone Co. and then worked as an occupational therapist at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. She and her husband owned and operated Gus Deraco’s Italian Sandwich Shop on South Eighth Street in Lebanon for many years. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 22, 2000, at the Friendship Fire Co. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, reading and being master of ceremonies for many years at VA Employee Association functions. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church, Lebanon. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Tina M. Deraco of Harrisburg, Anthony A. Deraco of Lancaster and Traci W., wife of Ron Ginnona of King of Prussia; brother Robert Perry of Nampa, ID; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Rupert Perry and James Frysinger. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at St. Cecilia Church, Lebanon. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
