Merle H. Thorpe, 55, of 27 Delaware St. in Lopatcong Township, N.J., died Tuesday in Warren Hospital.
He worked at McGinley Mills in Phillipsburg for 20 years, until April 1988.
Born Nov. 14, 1934, in Phillipsburg, he was a son of Rose Lance Thorpe of Phillipsburg, and the late Merle Thorpe. He lived in Phillipsburg all of his life.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Emma L. Glanz; three sons, all at home; a daughter, of Phillipsburg; two brothers, both of Easton; three sisters; one of Milford, N.J., one of Easton, and one of Phillipsburg; and two grandchildren.
