Allen C. Tuttle, who retired in 1965 after working 49 years for Union Pacific Railroad, died of a heart attack Friday in his Northeast Portland home. He was 87.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Ross Hollywood Chapel, with vault interment in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Tuttle was born in Elk Point, S.D., and moved to Portland in 1916. During World War I, he served in France with the 43rd Company, 166th Depot Brigade of the U.S. Army. He was a longtime member of Tualatin Valley Community Church and had been a member of Mount Hood Masonic Lodge 157 since August 1919.
Surviving Mr. Tuttle are his wife, Josephine; daughters Naomi Derosier of New Westminister, British Columbia, Maryalys Berkey and Dolores Riggs of Portland; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
