Lena Hope Alexander Martin, 96, was born July 23, 1917, to Benjamin Fred Alexander and Vora Gertrude Clark Alexander. She was the fourth of five children. Lena married Walter Neal "Watt" Martin in 1938. She was a housewife and a mother, who raised her children in a Christ-centered home. She attended Blue Mountain College and became a teacher. She taught at Boneyard and Gift schools and taught classes at her home congregation of Theo Church of Christ. She died late in the month of July 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Edity Truie Felker, Benjamin Hall Alexander, Lyman Kyral Alexander, and Oma Lee McMillan.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Watt Martin (Margie) and Sherra Elaine Martin Childs (G.W.); grandchildren includes, Laura Lane Martin Ring (Johnny) of Pottsville, TN, William Woodrow Childs of Jackson, TN, Karen Beth Martin of Corinth, and Jason Watt Martin (Mary Heather) of Oxford; great-grandchildren, John Martin Gibbons of Pottsville, TN, Rylie and Will Childs of Jackson, TN, and Lily and Ruby Martin of Oxford.
