Leevi J. Aaltonen, 70, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Monday, December 31, 2007. He was born in Finland on August 23, 1937, the son of the late Hanna and Lars Aaltonen. He lived in Waukegan for the past 50 years having moved there from Michigan.

He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Leevi retired from ComEd after 36 years and 3 months of service. An avid sports fan, Leevi was an ardent Green Bay Packer football fan.

He is survived by his children, Diana (Scott) Hurlbut of Lake Villa and Steve (Kathy) Aaltonen of Michigan; his grandchildren, Heather and Shannon, and Danielle, Nicholas, Samual and Kathryn; his brother, Peter of Wisconsin; and sisters, Ruth (Ed) Sampson of Wisconsin and Betty (Bob) Ross of Minnesota

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Lauri.

Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. Noon on Friday, January 4, 2008 at RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave. (Rte. 83) Lake Villa, IL 60046 (2 bkls south of Grand Ave. Rte 132)

Interment will be private.

Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Noon.
