Harrison Davenport Obituary

"Skip" The '58 year book from Haddon Heights High School described him well: "Nice, happy -go-lucky fellow... fun to have around.. Interested in cars.. Likes dancing and parties." His love of cars led to the purchase of a 1982 and a 2000 Corvette. He didn't see any sense in locking them in his garage: he raced at Atco Raceway and had a trophy to prove it and he and Judy loved to socialize with the Garden State Corvette Club. His Oak Valley home was always the hang out for all of his kid's friends. He kept it informal: there was no Mr. Davenport, they could call him Skip. When the siren blew he was off to fight fires with the Oak Valley Fire Company. Yes, that Rolex is real. Years after high school he'd reconnect with his prom date, Judith Davis. They'd share a 16 year marriage. He is also survived by his children: Cheryl "The Queen" (James) Kelly, Marty (Colleen) and Debbi "Little Precious" (Robert) Wallace; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; Dorothy Davenport and his BFF, Lucy Girl. Come celebrate 72 great years Thursday from 10am at BUDD FUNERAL HOME, 522 Salem Ave (Kings Hwy), Woodbury where the service will be at 11am. Burial Wenonah Cemetery. Donations to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 will be appreciated. Tell a great story about Skip at lifecelebrationstudio.com .
