Girton, Jessie May (1883? - 5 AUG 1923)
Jessie May Girton, aged forty years, wife of Louis O. Girton, passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital at Chippewa Falls, Sunday morning at seven o'clock, of ulcers of the stomach. She had been in failing health for some time, and on Thursday of last week was taken to the hospital with the thought that treatment there would bring relief. The body was brought to Withee, Clark County, Wis., and taken to the home six mile north and one-half mile east of the village. Tuesday the funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church, Rev. Grandy officiating. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and a host of friends, who had gained her acquaintance since they moved here from Iowa five years ago. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery.Hi,
She was the dtr. of Thomas M. Hampson and Mahala McDowell. They married 7 Nov. 1878 in LaSalle Co., IL. Mahala remarried Harvey K. Scott about 1901 in Illinois. She is buried in Greenwood cemetery, Harmon Twp., Lee Co., IL.
