Son of James Erwin Sr. & Velma [Jackson] Parker

Cleburne-Funeral services were held here Thursday morning for James Erwin Parker, 18, the Cleburne youth who was shot accidentally Tuesday afternoon in his car. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

A Cleburne High School senior, he was the son of James E. and Velma Jackson Parker. He was president of the 1962 senior class a member of the DeMolay; elected "best all around student in 1962;" named the "most popular boy" as a freshman and sophomore student and was also president of the junior class in 1961.

He was an outstanding athlete in elementary school, in junior high and as a freshman and sophomore. He was a member of the Cleburne Yellow Jacket state co-championship grid team in 1959.

The youth was also a part-time employe of the Santa Fe Railway, working at night as a call boy.

He is survived by his parents, one sister, and his grandmothers.
