Janet Laraine Barkdoll, 67, of Funkstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at her home while under the care of Jennie Jones-Geis and Raymond Geis, whom she lived with for more than seven years.
She will truly be missed.
Born Aug. 13, 1945, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Delbert S. and Reba M. (Palmer) Barkdoll.
As a child, she lived in Wolfsville, Md.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Valerie.
She is survived by a sister, Caroline Garnand and husband, Roger.
She attended Wolfsville Elementary School as a child.
During her adult life, she attended Washington County Human Development Council and had many friends including, but not limited to, Rusty, Rose, Gerry, Mattie and many others.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery, 12704 Wolfsville Road, Smithsburg, with Chaplain Katherine Lippy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742; or Washington County Human Development Council, 433 Brewer Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740, in Janet's memory.
Arrangements were made by J.L. Davis Funeral Home Smithsburg.
