Nicholas Chatham, 7; struck by car, dies later.

Nicholas Glen Chatham, 7, of Alton, died at 7 A.M. Sunday, Sept. 27, 1987, at Children's Hospital in St. Louis. Nicholas died of injuries suffered Saturday when he was struck by an automobile while riding his bicycle on Brown Street in Alton.
He was the son of Glen Chatham and Denise (Clark) Stamper, both of Alton.
Nicholas was in the first grade at Thomas Jefferson School in Alton.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his stepmother, Mary Chatham of Alton; maternal grandparents, Harry and Mary Lou Clark of Holiday Shores; paternal grandmother, Mabel Chatham of East Alton; a brother, Ryan Stamper of Alton; and two sisters, Mary Kay Stamper and Rochelle Chatham, both at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday with services at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Alton.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the Nicholas Chatham Memorial Fund in care of the Bank of Alton.

They decided to have him buried in Valhalla Cemetery instead of Rose Lawn.
