Julia Ann Willmett, born November 26th, 1923 in Lansing, Kansas, to Roy and Zelpha Bloom, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2013, at the age of 89, following a long battle with Alzheimer's. Judy spent her early years in Oklahoma, moving to California with her husband and children in 1956. She loved her job and retired from a long career with Raley's grocery stores in 1984 to travel with her husband Alvin and help raise her grandchildren, Sean, Jocelyn and Alexa. Judy was a natural musician and often expressed her belief that God-given talents should be used in the service of God. She was pianist or organist in every church she joined until her illness made that impossible. Judy and Alvin had a wide circle of friends with whom they frequently played music, she on the keyboard, and he on the mandolin. She was very proud to be the oldest of ten children and loved her siblings with all her heart, as they loved her. Family meant everything to her. One of her greatest delights was cooking big dinners for her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years Alvin, daughter Beverly Edwards, and six of her nine siblings. She leaves behind children Wayne Willmett, Carol Willmett, Cynthia Willmett, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
