Widow's Declaration for Pension filed by Barbara A. Snow who was living in Hickory Creek, Hunt County, Texas July 19, 1890 states that she is the widow of Abijah Snow who enlisted at Jasper, Arkansas on 1 March 1863 - Company F. 1st Arkansas Vol. Infantry.and that he was honorably discharged and that he died 1 July 1883.
The 1880 census shows Abijah and Barbara Snow living in Fannin
County, Texas and it is assumed that is where he died. Barbara states that she married Abijah Snow in Jasper, Arkansas under the name Barbara Casey. Barbara remained in Texas and drew a pension and received her last pension payment 8 February 1900 and was dropped from the Pension Rolls on 31 July 1900 so she died sometime between those two dates. Ahijah and Barbara did not return to Arkansas.
One of their daughters is buried in a cemetery in Fannin County, Texas. She was living in Fannin County when both her parents died and continued to live there until her death.
