William G Cappeller, son of the late William S Cappeller, founder of the Mansfield News, died Sunday night at his home, 810 Marion Ave, after having been in critical condition for several weeks, following several years of declining health.
He was born in Cincinnati Sept.2 1861 and after graduating from the Cincinnati High School, entered n Wittenberg College, Springfield, graduating in the class of 1883.
He came to Mansfield shortly after the founding of the News by his father in 1885, and was associated with his father and brother in the newspaper operation for many years.
Mr. Cappeller is survived by his wife and daughter, also one brother, Edward B Cappeller of Hollywood, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. C.C.Doran, Long Beach, Calif, Mrs. C.E. Miller of Cincinnati, and Mrs.W.B. Gongwer of Cleveland.
He was a charter member of Mansfield Lodge No 56 P.O.E. and the First Methodist Church.
