Atlanta Georgia Harper, familiarly known as "Addie," was the daughter of Marcus Lafayette Harper and Hellen Fain. She married John Wesley Chessor on December 24, 1903.

Addie and John were the parents of 6 children: Flora Edward, Nellie Lou, Horace Greeley, Mattie Ruth, Claude Wesley, and John Wesley, Jr.

From all accounts she was a fiesty force of nature - friendly but fiesty. Her favorite holiday was Easter, and she loved to have Easter egg hunts at her house - family and friends all invited. She was a devout member of the Church of Christ.
