Mrs. J. C. Rodgers, Sr., died Tuesday afternoon, June 11, at 1 o'clock. Funeral Friday at 1:30. Burial in Northwest cemetery, Colebrook.

OBITUARY

Emma O. Thurber, only daughter of George and Mahala Demming Thurber, was born in Morgan Township, Ashtabula County, Ohio July 6th, 1857, and died in Colebrook, Ohio June 11th, 1918, aged 60 years, 11 months, 5 days.
On June 30th, 1875, she was married to Frank B. Andrews and in this union was born four children, three of whom are living. Guy L. Andrews of Pittsburg, Pa., William P. Andrews of Newton Falls, Ohio, Myra A. Webb of Colebrook, Ohio, and Lula M. who died in infancy.
She was left a widow May 2nd 1885 and was again married Feb. 6th, 1889, to J.C. Rodgers of Colebrook, Ohio, a widower with one daughter, Beryl M. Cook of Colebrook.
To this union was born four children, three of whom are living, J.C. Rodgers Jr., Mason T. Rodgers, and Carmen E. Waid, all of Colebrook, Ohio. Carlie having died in infancy.
On Jan 9th, 1916, she was again left a widow.
She became a member of the M.E. church soon after coming to Colebrook. For many years she has been in poor health, but thru all her suffering she was cheerful and patient.
Her funeral was held at her late home, June 14th, 1918, and was conducted by Rev. Johnson of Orwell, (a former paster of Colebrook) and Rev. Le Page of Colebrook.
Besides four sons and two daughters and one step-daughter, who will miss a loving and faithful mother, she leaves to mourn her loss, five grand children and many friends and relatives.

But in our sorrowing hearts
A loving memory we shall keep;
Our loving mother true and kind
No friend on earth like her we'll find
For all of us, she did her best
May God grant her eternal rest.
