Alan Boyd Larsen, 75, passed away July 22, 2013 at his home in Central Valley of complications of Prostate Cancer.

He was born July 21, 1938 in Salt Lake City to Alma and Margaret Alice James Larsen. He married Lois Earlene Rowe, May 15, 1959 in Spanish Fork. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple

Boyd was an avid "Scouter" and has been active with the BSA continuously from 1960 to 2013. He was a scout master and was a scout district chairman. He received Wood Badge, Silver Beaver awards. As an active member of the LDS Church, he served faithfully where ever he was called.

He worked many years with the Physics department at the University of Utah (Go Red!), as a Cosmic Ray Research Technician.

He is survived by his wife, Earlene; children, Ronald Jay (Mary Beth) Larsen, Michael Lynn Larsen, Robert Wayne Larsen, Gary John (Mindy) Larsen; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Karen) Larsen, Dean (Connie) Larsen.

Preceding him in death are his parents; son, David Alan Larsen; sister, Joan "Buddy" Combs; step-brothers, Arthur Larsen, Shirley Larsen.

The family expresses their appreciation to At Home Health Care, especially Chynna and Shauna for their loving care.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Annabella 1st Ward Chapel. Many friends visited with family at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 and at the ward chapel on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30.

Burial was held at 4:00 p.m. in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
