Norman N. Dreiling, 74, died May 21, 2008 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born January 28, 1934 in Ellis County, Kansas, the son of Nick P. and Mary Catherine (Rupp) Dreiling. He married Shirley T. Anderson September 3, 1955 at Plainville, Kansas. He was the principle owner and operator of Allied Cementing for forty-one years. The business started in Russell, Kansas, in 1967, later growing to seven other locations across Kansas serving the oil and gas industry. He was a resident of Great Bend and Ellinwood, Kansas, for thirty-seven years.

Mr. Dreiling was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick, Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge and the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dreiling, of the home; two sons, Steven Dreiling and wife, Jan, Lawrence, Kansas, and Jayson Dreiling and wife, Penni, Ellinwood, Kansas; one daughter, Jeri Mitchell and husband, Larry, Pratt, Kansas; one brother, Gerald Dreiling, Hoisington, Kansas; three sisters, Shirley Ann Bollig, Hays, Kansas, Erma Jean Staab, Manhattan, Kansas, and Joyce La Barge, Topeka, Kansas; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Linus, Vernon, Francis, Virgil, Marvin and Kenneth. By sisters, Viola Budig, Woodward,Okla, Wanita Plante, Plainville,Ks,Thelma Hake, Plainville,Ks. Baby sister Irene.

Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Floyd McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials in Mr. Dreiling's name have been established with the Alzheimer's Association or the Kansas Oil and Gas Museum, both in care of the funeral home.
