Shirley Dreiling, 72, of Great Bend, died Dec. 2 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence. Born Aug. 16, 1936, at Garber, Okla., she was the daughter of J. Webb and Nettie Wilson Anderson. She married Norman Dreiling on Sept. 3, 1955, at Plainville. He died May 21, 2008. She was a homemaker and owner/operator of Foxy Lady Dress Shop, Great Bend. She was a resident of Ellinwood and Great Bend for 37 years, coming from Russell.
Mrs. Dreiling was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick, Altar Society, Pilot Club, Women's AGLOW and a charter member and past president of Delta Tau, ESA, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Dreiling and wife Jan of Lawrence and Jayson Dreiling and wife Penni of Ellinwood; one daughter, Jeri Mitchell and husband Larry of Pratt; a sister, Carol June Rosin of New Braunfels, Texas; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Anderson and Delbert Anderson.
An Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. Friday and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Friday, both at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Floyd McKinney officiant. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery North. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donations to a memorial fund for St. Jude's Children's Hospital may be made in care of the funeral home.
