First wife Lydia Cobb Pratt died in Pomfret, Connecticut where they had moved. Daniel Pratt then married a "Mrs. Bass", widow of a sea captain. They moved to Cossayuna, New York, about 1819, where Daniel's son William had moved.

Abstract of Graves for Revolutionary Patriots states he is buried at Waites Corners, Washington County, NY. However this may be a different Daniel Pratt. The book; "A Pratt Book: The American ancestors and descendants of Simon Newcomb Pratt", 1939, states Daniel and his second wife, "Mrs. Bass" are "buried in a private burial ground on the hillside opposite the home of Newcomb Pratt, near Cossayuna. It further states, the gravestones were buried below the plowing depth and the graves were plowed over and a skull that had a double row of teeth was found on the hillside, was placed under the stones. It was supposed to be that of Daniel Pratt, as he had a double row of teeth on both jaws." (!)
Writer is Daniel & Lydia Pratt's 5th Great Granddaughter, two times over. Her third Great Grandparents, Joshua Brown and Sarah Pratt were first cousins.
