Mrs. Edna Lewis Johnson, age 83, of Oak Mt. Village Carrollton, Ga., passed away Sunday, September 17, 2006. She was born March 6, 1923 in Carroll County, Ga., to the late Nannie Estelle Clark Lewis and the late James Elbert Lewis. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist church and attended Bethel Methodist Church for as long as she was able. Mrs. Johnson was a caregiver in the true sense of the word and even after her health failed, her greatest joy came in caring for others. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. "Billy" Johnson; an infant son, William Lewis Johnson; her sisters, Odell Collins, Nadine Cole and Garrie McLamb; her brothers, Jack Lewis and Olen Lewis. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Allene & Michael Norman, Jerry & Tina Johnson, Charles & Debra Johnson and Michael "Pete" Johnson; a sister and brother in-law, Syble & Doyal Warren; a brother and sister in-law, Floyd & Jean Lewis all of Carrollton; nine grand children, 15 great grand children and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 3 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Wayne Webb and Rev. Donald McIntosh officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Norman, Kevin McCollough, David McCollough, Calvin Lewis and Doyle Warren. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Graham, Jr., and Jacob McCollough. Interment will follow in Bethel Campground Church Cemetery.
