Timothy Melvin Bivings, 73, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Bradford Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following an extended illness.

A native of Spartanburg County, he was the widower of Frederica Elizabeth (Henry) Bivings, and the son of the late Ezell and Fannie Mae (Parks) Bivings. He was of the Baptist faith. He was previously married to Ella Bivings of Spartanburg.

Survivors include four sons, Kevin Maurice Bivings of Seattle, WA, Timothy Jerome Bivings, Donald Bivings and Joseph Boston, all of Spartanburg; one daughter, Patricia Bivings of Spartanburg; one brother, Ezell Bivings, Jr. of Washington, DC; two sisters, Elenora Bivings of Spartanburg, and Doris B. Walker of Peekskill, NY; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Community Mortuary/Dawkins-Smith Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Charles J. J. Jackson. Burial followed at Heritage Memorial Gardens.
