She was the daughter of David Burnett and Love Clementine "Lovey" (Ervin) Walker and married George Washington Pickett - 04 Apr 1870 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. Her obituary follows:

Mrs. Mary Jones Pickett, aged 80 years and wife of Mr. G. W. Pickett, died at their home at Lincoln Thursday, August 4, 1927. Her illness was of brief duration and heart trouble was the malady which resulted in her death. For years she had been a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, and her faith was of such staunch character that she never questioned, never doubted, but accepted the Bible as the inspired word of God and relied implicity upon its promises. Funeral service was conducted by Revs. W. J. Malone and J. W. Curry, burial at Lincoln. She is survived by her aged husband, three sons and one daughter, Bee, John, and William Pickett, and Mrs. Claud Jennings.
