From the Miami News:" The dead are , Henry Andrews, Otter Creek, superintendent of the Cumer Lumber Company's sawmill, age 42. He leaves a wife and three children". Article in the Bradford County Telegraph dated 12 Jan 1923 : The remains of Henry M. Andrews arrived in Starke on the Cedar Key Train Saturday morning and were taken in charge by Funeral Director, D.C. Jones. The funeral services were held in the Baptist Church in the afternoon and interment was in Crosby Lake Cemetery. The deceased was born just west of Starke 44 years and six months ago, his father being the late John Andrews, a well known farmer. While a lad he left home to make a name for himself. At his death he was the superintendent of the Cummer Lumber Company at Otter Creek in Levy County. He is survived his widow, four children, one brother, Ernie Andrews, and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Johnson of Lulu. His untimely death occurred late Thursday night, January 4th, at Rosewood, when he had gone with many others to capture a number of Negroes hiding and protecting a criminal of their own race. As Mr. Andrews and others ascended the steps to the house demanding that the criminal be given up, gun fire was opened up from within and Mr Andrews and C.T. Wilkison were shot dead.
