Beverly J Smith Francis, 78, died Tuesday January 3, 2012, from kidney failure at her home in South Ogden, Utah.
She was born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1933 in Malad, Idaho to Stephen L. and Sigred Johnson Smith. She participated in student government and served as Student Body President of Malad High. She won awards in Speech and Drama. After graduating from Brigham Young University she taught school in Utah and Texas and worked as a secretary.
Beverly married Robert E Francis on September 20, 1957 in the Logan LDS temple and they raised their five children in South Ogden, Utah.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed serving in the Relief Society, especially as the cultural refinement teacher. She was thoughtful of others and received joy from celebrating their successes. Above all, she cherished her roles of wife, mother, and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; children, Jan (Brad) Favero, Ogden, UT; Joseph (Laura) Francis, Perry, UT; Jed (Anne) Francis, Logan, UT; Stephen Francis, South Weber, UT; and Jenifer Francis, Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Marnie, Zan, and Drew Favero, Spencer and Jessica Francis, and Hope, Seth, Samantha, Elise, and Erica Francis; sister, Sonja (Weldon) Egbert; brother, Stephen (Bonnie) Smith; brother-in-law, Richard Curtis; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Joseph Francis and sister-in-law, Verlene Curtis.
