Sadie was an amazing woman according to my Grandmother Irma Nelle and my Great Grandmother Edith. She had tenacity and a strength of spirit and character that she passed down to her three daughters, Edith, Blanche and Chat Sheeler. Sadie has a joint Headstone with her husband Thomas Maguire Sheeler in Iowa at the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. She did not want her daughters to bear the burden or expense of have her remains returned home. So she remained here in California with her daughters and chose Sunnyside as her final resting place.
She was widowed before she was thirty and supported herself and three daughters her entire life. Her burial plot next to Thomas was transferred by her oldest Great Grandson Charles Richard Townsend to the Zearley Family in Monroe for their son.
