William D. Dunsmuir of Pennsauken, N.J., died Saturday at home.

Born in Plains Township, he was the son of the late David and Rita Blakeslee Dunsmuir.

He attended Coughlin High School and was a resident of Plains Township.

He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of sergeant, and received the Purple Heart among other decorations and medals.

He was employed as a detective for the Camden, N.J., City Police Department for over 25 years.
He was a member of the Camden City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, and the Weathermen Sports Club, Camden.

Surviving are his wife, the former Susan Daly, at home; sons, Corey and Sean, both at home; a daughter, Kara, at home; brothers, David, John, and Thomas, all of Plains Township; Robert and Donald, both of Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Marion Tregaskis and Ann Cease, both of Plains Township; Margaret Augustaitus, Wilkes-Barre; Rita Luse, Kingston; Shirley Baird, Plymouth; Joan Obert, West Nanticoke; Jeanne Elick, Lansdale; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday from the Blake-Doyle Funeral Home, 226 Collings Ave., Collingswood, N.J., with a funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. in the Church of St. John, Park and Lees Avenue, Collingswood, N.J.

Interment will be in Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, N.J.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday.
