Henry John Ivey, Sr. was born AUG 1834 at Penzance, Cornwall, UK. He was the son of John Ivey and Sarah Matilda (Pasco) Ivey. He arrived in America in 1848, at the age of 14.
His first marriage was to Margaret Chin on 10 MAY 1857 at Mineral Point. This couple had four children: Catherine J Ivey (Charles Curtis); Henry Ivey, Jr (Harriet Catharine Coad), Benjamin Ivey (died as child) and William Ivey (assumed died as a child). Margaret (Chin ) Ivey died in 1866.
Henry Ivey, Sr. then married Grace James on 29 FEB 1868 at Mineral Point. This couple had four children: Fannie E Ivey (Allen Thomas Spang); Nellie I Ivey (unmarried); Mary C Ivey (unmarried and Charles Leroy Ivey (Lulu Mae Suthers). Grace (James) Ivey died in 1916 at MIneral Point. Henry Ivey, Sr. died on 17 DEC 1909 at MIneral Point.
No burial site has been found for Henry Ivey, Jr (1860-1843)and his wife, Harriet Catharine Coad (1860-1935). They died at Bell, Los Angeles, California . It is believed they were cremated.
