Born March 1, 1916, Salt Lake City, to William and Hannah May McFarland Platt. Married Alice Virginia Sheppard, Nov. 21, 1936, Salt Lake City. Marriage solemnized Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Employe, Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, 21 years. Representative, Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., High Priest, South Cottonwood Third LDS Ward. Active member, Democratice Part, South Cottonwood Community Council.

Survivors: widow; sons, David E., South Cottonwood; Dennis R., U.S. Air Force, Germany; two grandchildren; mother, Salt Lake City; sister, brothers, Mrs. F. R. (Reta) Barrett, Ernest A., both Salt Lake City; William H., Lafayette, Calif.

Funeral Wednesday, 12:30 p.m., South Cottonwood Third LDS Ward Chapel, 1160 Vine St. (6000 South). Friends call 4760 S. State Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., at chapel prior to services. Burial, Elysian Burial Gardens.
