Born in Anderson County, son of the late Andy and Lillie Eva Dixon Patton; widower of Ollie (Dell) Bowen.
Served his country in the US Army during WWII and retired as owner of his sign company.
Surviving are three sons, Bill, Paul and Charles Bowen; three daughters, Jeans Edgins, Kathy Johnston, and Kim Howard; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Ivey of Florida .
Preceded in death by a son, Whitner Bowen.
Visitation was held Monday, July 25, 2005 from 7:00-8:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 10:30 am in the Downtown Chapel, with interment following in Hillcrest Cemetery, Greer.
