Velma Irene Novak was born in Elmer Township, Michigan, on June 8, 2010, the daughter of Edward H. and Louise (Marks) Genshaw. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1938 and was united in marriage to Sylvester P. Novak, who preceeded her in death in 1994. She was also preceeded in death by her brother, Arnold, in 1988, and a sister, Esther, who died in infancy. She is survived by her sister, Vera Booren of Mayville, and daughters Diane (Jim) Carson of Port Richey, Florida, and Darlene (Tom) LaVere of Livonia, Michigan. Services to celeberate her life were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Berkley, Michigan, of which she was a long-time member. Interment was in Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park, Livonia, Michigan.
