LEXINGTON—Marian Lee Hollis Alford, age 65, died Friday, March 2, 1990, in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born in Gerrardstown, W.Va., on February 20, 1925. [Date differs from gravestone and SSDI.] She was the daughter of the late Joseph William Hollis, Jr., and Cora Lee Morris Hollis. She was the widow of William S. Alford, Jr. She was a member of the Ebenezer A.R.P. Church and was retired from Crestar Bank.
Surviving are one daughter, Libby A. Griffith, Marion; one brother, Joseph William Hollis, Jr., Lexington; an aunt, Mrs. Nettie Deaver, Lexington; several nieces and nephews and a host of beloved friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James M. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison Funeral Home.
