CLEO ELLIS BARNETT, age 91 of Alvin, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas. Cleo was born on October 20, 1914 in Etoile, Texas and was a resident of Alvin for 70 years. He was in the construction business and was a member of the Baptist faith. Cleo was a Boy Scout leader and was member of the Optimist Club and American Legion Post # 129 and served in the United States Army during World War II. Cleo was preceded in death by his wife, Winona Barnett and his parents. Cleo is survived by his sons, Clarence Barnett and wife, Betty of Alvin, Texas, Jimmy Barnett of Alvin, Texas, Carroll Barnett and wife, Susanne of Denton, Texas, 6 grandchildren, Douglas, Darrell, Gary, Moriah, Erica and Katsie, 6 great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 24, 2006 at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Scott Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Streeter officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Alvin Oak Park Cemetery, Alvin, Texas. Arrangements under the direction of the Scott Family, 1421 East Hwy. 6, Alvin, Texas, 77511.
