BAXTER Funeral services for Betty Virginia Jernigan, 81, of Silver Point will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Smellage Memory Gardens in
Silver Point. The family is receiving friends at the funeral home today until 9 p.m.
Mrs. Jernigan died on Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born on July 7, 1921, in Putnam County to the late Bethel and
Martha Carr Prichard. Mrs. Jernigan was a homemaker and a member of New Home Baptist Church.
Her family includes three sons and daughtersinlaw, Billy R. and Iris
Jernigan, Robert and Joan Jernigan and Roger and Ella Jernigan, all of Silver Point; a brother, Buddy Prichard of South Carolina; a sister, Billie Roberts of Silver Point; eight grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreatgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Charlie Jernigan.
