Mr. Philo D. Browne, who has been a resident of San Rafael during the past 3 years, died at his home on Fifth Avenue, late Sunday night, aged 75 years past.
He was a native of Vermont, and in his younger manhood was a prominent banker in Montreal, Canada. In 1876 he came to California, and up to within a few years was prominent in church and business circles in San Francisco and Oakland. In his younger days he was a prominent Mason, at one time being Deputy Grand Master of the order for the Dominion of Canada.
