Col. J. L. Doggett, died this afternoon. Doggett had served several terms as Mayor of McKinney, was internal revenue collector for North Texas under President Cleveland, and was one time flotortal representative from Collin and Denton Counties.

At the time of his heath he was president of the Collin County Bar Association and president of the Collin County Picnic Association. He was the father of Edwin Doggett, well known business man of Dallas. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, April 24 1921
