Daughter of Joseph Harman and Mary Bauder. Anna moved to California in 1959.

Mrs. Anna Harman Allen, wife of T.G. Allen and member of a pioneer family of this area, died suddenly Wednesday, February 1st at 9:45 pm, in Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Calif, the city where Mr. and Mrs. Allen had resided for two years.

Born in New Martinsville, February 27th, 1889, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bouder Harman, and the last of her family.

With the exception of two years, Mrs. Allen had spent her entire life in the town of her birth, having moved to California two years ago. Surviving are her husband, a son, Dr. Joseph Allen of New Martinsville; and a daughter, Mrs. Gene Hornbrook, of La Mesa, Calif; and seven grandchildren.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church in this city; a charter member and Past Matron of New Martinsville Chapter No. 50 Order of Eastern Star, and would have celebrated her fiftieth year as a member in April, 1961.

The body was returned to New Martinsville, and taken to the Wells Funeral Home on Maple Avenue, where friends were received. Ritualistic services were conducted by officers and members of Chapter No. 50, O.E.S., on Sunday evening at seven o'clock.

Services were held at the Funeral Home on Monday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Rev. Sumner D. Sawyers officiating. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial park.

New Martinsville Chapter #50, Order of the Eastern Star, was organized in the home of Mrs. and Mrs. W.E. Wharton on April 7, 1911. The Charter members were: Alice Alexander, W. J. Alexander, Jemina Bishop, Mary Cornett, Caroline Coogle, Virginia Chapman, J.M. Coogle, Rua Dayton, Anna Fisher, Delia Francis, William Francis, Irene Gorby, Anna Harman, Francis Hill, Mary Iams, Clara Kinchloe, Nellie Martin, lena Oblinger, Nelson Oblinger, Lina Oblinger, Mary Orkies, Edna Postlethwait, W.J. Postlethwait, Etta Postlethwait, Hattie Paulhamus, H.R. Paulamus, Lucy Standiford, Jeanette Simmons, Eva Wharton and W.E. Wharton.(Mrs. Carol Hassig, Secretary)
