PETERSBURG DIES
Mrs. Thomas Hadland Stricken
In Ketchikan
After a week's illness, Mrs. Thomas Hadland died in Ketchikan last Friday. She was a former resident of Petersburg, having lived here from 1908 until 1922. For the last three years she has lived in Ketchikan. Two of Mrs. Hadlands daughters, Mrs. Andrew Heimdahl and Mrs. ChrisTveten are residents of Petersburg. Mrs. Hadland had not been feeling very well tor several months but until Saturday, May 15, no fear was felt for her. Her condition rapidly became worse and no hope was held out for her recovery. Her body was taken to Everett for burial. No services were held in Ketchikan. Mrs. Hadland was born in Egersund, Norway, 55 years ago and she has resided in Alaska since 1908. During the last three years she made her home in Ketchikan and the vicinity and a host of friends made during her long residence in the territory will mourn her passing. Prior to coming to Alaska Mrs. Hadland lived in eastern cities and later moved to Everett, Washington. Surviving her are her husband and I0 children: Mrs. Andrew Heimdahl and Mrs. Chris Tveten of Petersburg Mrs. Alfred Howe of Ketchikan, Mrs. Sverre Tveten of Everett, Miss Marie, Florence and Alice Hadland of Ketchikan and four sons*. Toralph, Elmer and Rudolph Hadland of Ketchikan and Sigurd Hadland of Wenatchee. All were present when she passed on except Sigurd
