Funeral services for Arthur Albrecht, 92, were held Friday, June 23, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ludger Catholic Church. Fr. Keith Rezac officiated with interment at St. Ludger Catholic Cemetery. Military honors were conducted by American Legion post #74 and VFW Post #1151 of Creighton.

Mr. Albrecht died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Creighton Area Health Services.

Arthur J. Albrecht was born to Henry and Mary (Wagner) Albrecht on January 5, 1914 at Creighton and attended St. Ludger School.

He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945, spending 16 months in California and 28 months in four battles in the Pacific Theatre. He was involved in the Aleutian Island Campaign and the battle of Okinawa and sailed on eight ships before returning to Creighton to farm.

Mr. Albrecht was a member of St. Ludger Catholic Church and VFW Post #1151 of Creighton.

Survivors include his sister, Eleanor. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lester and Harold and sisters, Helen and Grace.
