Eastport - Sarah (Tooze) Mabee, 87, widow of Ashton Mabee, died May 14, at the Calais Regional Hospital. She was born in Boston, Mass. October 31, 1896 the daughter of William and Catherine (Willender) Tooze.
For 12 years she was manager of the Unobskey Clothing Store in Eastport. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the Maine Branch of the National League of Post Masters and a member of the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, John F. of Eastport and Robert of California; one sister, Mrs. George Lee of Eastport; one brother George Tooze of South Dennis, Mass.; several nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law Wallace Mabee of Minneapolis, Minn.
Funeral services were held at the Flagg Funeral Home with Rev. Roland A. Chaffey officiating. Internment was in Hillside Cemetery East, Eastport

Machinist Ashton Morton Mabee, 21, and Sarah Katheine Tooze, 22, both of Eastport, were married on August 13, 1919 in St. Stephen N.B.
Ashton had been born in Eastport to Fred W. and Carry M. Mabee, and Sarah had been born in Boston to William and Catherine Tooze.
