Mr. Wallace (Wally) Davidson, 68 of Rochester was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at his home in the early hours on July 31, 2013.

On August 6, 1944, Wallace H. Davidson was born in Indianapolis. He was the treasured son of Anna Davidson. Wally grew up in Indianapolis and graduated with great pride from Manual High School with his class in 1963.

When patriotism beckoned, Wally answered the call and served our country with the US Army during the late 1960's. His tour of duty included stints in Thailand and Germany. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter M - 14.

At the Never on Friday Dance Club, Wally met the love of his life, Miss Jane Marie Woznicki. Many Friday evenings, together they danced the night away doing the twist and rock and roll. They were married in Carmel on December 5, 1970, sharing life's adventures for over 42 years. Their union produced two beautiful daughters Kristine and Kerri. With great excitement the family awaits the arrival of the third generation later this year.

While living in Indianapolis, Wally enjoyed woodworking. He had a shop in his garage where he created custom gifts for family and special friends including intricate music boxes, a vanity and a variety of cabinetry.

In July of 2001, Wally and Jane moved to the Rochester community. Here they cultivated many friendships. They shared an interest in taking ballroom dancing lessons, biking on the Nickle Plate Trail and sharing pizza in Denver before the return trip. They dabbled with creating their own home brewed beer brands and creating cabernet' blackberry, and strawberry wines.

With a great lifetime interest of trains and locomotion, Wally enjoyed a vast collection of American Flyer Trains. In his basement he constructed a custom layout that was once featured as a cover story for the Classic Toy Trains magazine. His S-gauge model A. C. Gilbert American Flyer ran on the layout that encompassed a 22' X 25' area of his basement. Detail oriented, he assembled the city with a meticulous effort incorporating landscapes and scale model cars and buildings to compliment the trains' passage around the track. Through his leadership, the American Flyer Train Club was formed that included members from around a four state area around the mid-west. He always took time to help others by refurbishing and restoring older model trains. Just a few years ago he dispensed with his treasured collection.

Wally is lovingly remembered by his wife Jane, two daughters, Kristine Beltz and husband Mark of Indianapolis, and Kerri Davidson, of New York City, NY.

A 7:30 p.m. sunset military service will be accorded by the Fulton County Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honors Team.

Interment will be on the family plot at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
