He had lived in Pasco since 1944 and was a retired fire chief for Franklin County District 4. He was co-owner of the Spic & Span Cleaners, owner of Walt's Rug Cleaners, and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Walt is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marie, of Pasco; daughter, Betty J. Hatcher, of Richland; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mabel Caliebe, of Greenwood, Wis.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.
The funeral service will be at Bruce Lee Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Kennewick.
