Edward Arnold Sadler, 75, of Crown Hill, left this life for his eternal home on July 30, 2005.

Born at Jochin, he was the son of the late H.A. and Ollie Sadler.

Mr. Sadler attended East Bank High School then joined the Navy in May of 1948. He served aboard the USS Mississippi until February 1950. He joined the Army in June 1952, and served in the Korean War in the Military Police Battalion until June 1954. He graduated from Nashville Auto-Diesel College, worked for International Harvester in Columbus, Ohio and Bell Lines in Kanawha City. He worked as a load-out operator at Donaldson Mines for Valley Camp Coal Company until he retired in 1992.

He was a devout Christian, who served God for over 45 years. He was the church Deacon and a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Hugheston. He was also the Sunday School Superintendent, assistant adult Sunday School teacher, CPMA auxiliary director, and pastor booster.

His greatest joy, besides his family, was attending church. He never knew a stranger and loved talking about the goodness, mercy, and love of the Lord. He never failed to be a witness for God through his words and actions. He always shared a smile with everyone he came in contact with.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Jo; their children, Eddie, Westley, Darlena, Lawrence, Tia Dawn, and their families.

Service will be conducted by Rev. Brenda Gray and Bishop Harold Parker.

Special thanks to his church family, Dr. Dewitt, Dr. Cohen, Hospice Care and staff.

Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
