Funeral services for A. Q. Campbell will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Pastor John Rogers officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A.Q. passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Columbus, Georgia, at the age of 77.

A. Q. Campbell was born February 21, 1936, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Barnett and Thelma Ruth (Angel) Campbell. He was raised in Hugo and graduated from Grant High School. He joined the U.S. Army in May 1958 and served his country for twenty years with tours in Korea and Vietnam until 1978. During his Army service he was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He married Elisabeth Hormel on August 17, 1977, and moved to Columbus, GA, where he graduated from Columbus Technical College. Together they moved to Germany and he worked at AAFES until his retirement in 1997 when they returned to Columbus, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edna Jean Campbell; brother, Boyce Campbell.

A.Q. is survived by his wife Elisabeth of the home in Columbus, GA; one son, Juergen Hormel and wife Ingrid of Hamburg, Germany; three grandchildren, Julia, Hannah, and Merle of Hamburg, Germany; two brothers, Cecil Campbell of Paris, TX, Max Campbell and wife Dixie of Liberty Hills, TX; three sisters, Myrtle Malone of North Richland Hills, TX, Loyce Hardaway and husband Bill of Hugo OK, Linda McAdams and husband Ken of Lawton, OK.
