Born in Reading on July 21, 1924, Dorothy was the daughter of Earl W. and Elsie M. (Weber) Auchenbach. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Donald and brother Earl W. Auchenbach, Jr.
Dorothy was a graduate of Muhlenberg Township High School, Class of 1942. She was a parachute rigger during World War II and later worked for Karl Liebernecht, Seyler Motor Company as well as Lincoln Restaurant in Bern Twp. where she retired after 18 years. Dorothy was a Life Member of Alsace Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School. In addition, she loved traveling with "Blimmie" throughout the United Sates, Caribbean, Europe and Africa.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband "Blimmie" of 61 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her older brother Warren Auchenbach; her sister in law Shirley (Potteiger) Auchenbach, widow of Earl W. Auchenbach, Jr.; her nieces and nephews Evelyn Braun, Robert Auchenbach, Cheryl Auchenbach and Scott Auchenbach as well as numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alsace Lutheran Church, 2201 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605 or Shriner's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 40, Blandon, PA 19510.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives will be received Tuesday 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
Service:
Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Bean Funeral Home, N. 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights. Rev. Mark E. Brophy will officiate.
Cemetery:
Interment will be made in Laureldale Cemetery.
