John C. Arthur married Nancy Ellen Robinson, who came to Indiana with one of the many caravans by the covered wagon route. Her former home was Mayslick, Mason County, Ky. Her father was Elijah Robinson, a native Virginian who migrated to Kentucky in early life, thence on later to Indiana where he continued to live, and died in 1845. She was born Nov.19,1807, and died in the old home four miles south of Washington, Indiana, July 23,1893, at the age of 86 years, having survived John C. Arthur by fifty-one years.
