Son of Jeffrey & Julie Adams. Son of Jamie Thein.
Father of Christa Jayde Adams. Survivors Austin Adams, Amanda Adams.
Megan Flanigan was the love of his life and they had just announced they were getting married. Christa never met her dad as he was killed 4 months before she was born. CJ as attending Central Community College to become an electrician.
On April 5 1998 CJ "supposedly" had gone around the cross arms of a AmTrak Train. If you review his tire marks on the accident report you will see all 4 tires were on his side of the road and the cross arm on his side was not damaged. The one on the other side was when it was struck with part of the car after it was hit by the train. The car was cut in two and the front half of the car was still on "His" side of the road.
OBITUARY
Doniphan resident Christopher Jeffrey "CJ" Adams, 19, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, in a car-train accident east of Hastings.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Doniphan with Rev. Bill Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Rosedale Cemetery at Rosedale. Visitation is until 9 pm today at Brand-Wilson Funeral home.
CJ was born Dec. 19, 1978 to Jeffrey and Jamie (Thein) Adams in Hastings. He grew up in Doniphan , He graduated from Doniphan High School in 1997. He served as FCCLA president his senior year and was on the weight lifting team. He was employed by McDonald's of Hastings and was a student at Central Community College-Hastings. He was engaged to Megan Flanigan of Hastings.
He was a member of Doniphan United Methodist Church and its youth group.
Survivors are his father and stepmother, Jeff and Julie Adams of Doniphan;his mother and stepfather , Jamie and Bob Lewis of Henderson, NC; one brother, Austin of Doniphan; one sister, Amanda of Henderson; and grandparents, Clayton Robb, JoAnne Adams, and Doris and Ron Seevers, all of Doniphan, Louise Seevers of Anselmo, Larry and Helen Lewis of Rapid City, S D and Joanne and Marwin Rogers of Hordville.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Bill Thein and Marion "Deac" Adams.
Memorial may be given to the family.
Note: Chad A Miller of 20 of Glenville was also killed in the accident.
