He was the son of the late H. Lloyd and Ruth Miller Flickinger.
Mr. Flickinger was a self-employed contractor in Gettysburg for 36 years. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg.
He was the husband of Catherine M. Hughes Flickinger for 14 years and surviving, in addition to her, are eight children, Cindy Weaver of Littlestown, Tony Flickinger of Richmond, VA, Jody Witherow of Aspers, Trudy Steinour and Sara Flickinger of Gettysburg, Micky Flickinger of Fairfield, and John Flickinger and Adam Flickinger of Arendtsville; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Flickinger of Gettysburg, and two sisters, Shirley Shafer of Gettysburg and Joyce Vinson of Emmitsburg, MD.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Flickinger, who died in 1961.
