A telegram from Kaukauna brought the sad news that Edwin Beard, a resident of this city, was killed at that place Monday night. Mr. Beard was selling mill machinery, and had made a sale of pump and heater to the electric light plant at Kaukauna and was engaged in putting them in when by a misstep he fell in the flo-wheel pit and was taken out mangled and lifeless. His body was brought to Antigo Tuesday night, and buried Thursday morning with G.A.R. honors by John A. Kellogg Post. The deceased was 54 years of age, and leaves a wife and several young children in straightened circumstances.
