Robert Warden McDaniel, son of Rev. James Lowry McDaniel and Elizabeth [née Baird] McDaniel, was born near Cotton Plant, Mississippi on May 13th 1869.
Robert McDaniel was a graduate of Erskine College and two years later graduated from Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, South Carolina in June 1903. Later that month he was licensed by Tennessee Presbytery at Salem A.R.P. Church to preach.
On June 25th 1903, Rev. Robert McDaniel married Miss Annie Belle Dunlap of Salem, Tennessee; with whom he had three children:
Florence Isabell (1905-1946)
Annie Elizabeth (1909-1910)
Robert Dunlap (1912-1934)
