Bennie Lee Stancil, 71, of Windtree Ridge, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Cannon Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, Bennie was a son of the late James Leo and Maybelle Hayes Stancil. He was a self-employed handyman and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Posey Stancil of the home; son, Ronnie Lee Stancil of the home; brother, Kenneth Stancil of Central; sisters, Emma Gillespie of Anderson, Margaret Piche of Inman, SC and Viola Reed of Bland, VA; grandsons, Cody Raines and Steven Stancil; and great-grandson, Zane Stancil.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Mildred McCall, Lucille Manley, Edna McCall and Ethel Brewer.

Memorial services were 2 PM, Thursday April 6, 2011 at Refuge Baptist Church in Central.
